Trying to be a Better Blogger

Hey there everybody,

So. I'm making an early "New Year's Resolution". I am going to try to be a better blogger. I want to start talking about a number of things. I want to share my experiences and knowledge in both business and technology.

My goal is to keep up and post something new at least three times a week. I first set my goal to be once a day, but I know for sure that I will not be able to attain this goal...at least not at first.

So, over the next couple of weeks, you should be diving deeper into my brain on certain topics. Here are some I'm planning on writing on:

Why I started a software company
What does it mean to be a single person company

About The Wall

I just released a new section of the Widefido website called The Wall. If you've ever used facebook, or another social networking service, you will find The Wall familiar. It is a way for you and other visitors to interact on an informal basis. You can ask questions, post comments, or even suggestions for future versions of TodoPaper.

Right now, this is just a trial mode. I'm not sure how visitors will use the wall. It's a big experiment for the Widefido site. If you like it, post that you like it. If you don't, go ahead and post that you don't. I'd love to hear your comments!

Todays Update

Well, after 7 days of downtime, we are getting extremely close to the "relaunch" of Widefido.com. There are still a number of things missing from the old site, but this should get us rolling in the right direction.

Oh the World of Harddrive Crashes

So, it has been 6 days since the server crash last week, and we are just getting back online. This was a catastrophic event that caused Widefido great hardship. We lost a LOT of data. This was partly my fault, as I was relying on the server staying up, and not backing up as frequently as I should have been.

No worries. We are chugging along, working tirelessly to get the site back to its full potential. One good thing that came out of this is the code I've been writing for the server is many times better than the last version of the website. A+!

Forums
Screencasts
RSS Feeds

As time progresses, each of these items, along with the site layout will continually be improved upon. It will take much too long to get everything 100% and then launch. We are going to take the agile approach :) Continual itterative improvements!

Update on the Server Crash

It seems as though the backup restoration is not working properly. So, there may be another day or so of downtime while I rewrite a few pieces of the site. Again, please let me know if there is anything I can do for you in the meantime.

Server Crash

Last night (Oct 12) the Widefido server had an unfortunate disk crash. As of this moment, all data has been lost. I am trying to restore the site to a previous backup, but it may take a while.

I apologize for the inconvenience. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or comments. If during this time your trial expires, please shoot me an email and I will work with you to activate your copy of TodoPaper.
