Hey All,

I was contacted by Mark, a user of TodoPaper, who was telling me he is having trouble with TodoPaper "hogging" a lot of CPU and Memory when he types in the editor area. Have any of you encountered something like this? If you have, can you write up the steps it took to replicate?

Best,
Jordan

Thanks for replying. If you don't mind, can you post the specs (Processor, Memory Amount, and Windows version) of your machine?
Thanks!

CPU usage does seem high to me. When I'm typing in the editor, CPU usage is between 10 and 40 per cent. I tried typing in a lengthy piece of text (obviously not normal usage for ToDoPaper) and CPU use hovered at 30 to 40 percent. Most text editors hardly seem to register CPU usage in normal use.

AthlonXP 2200+, 1.5GB RAM, Windows XP Sp2.

Thanks for the input. I've also noticed that CPU usage is a little bit higher when editing text within a search view. This is because the editor has to maintain which lines are hidden and which are shown, along with other styling information, with each edit.

Just a note, with each release of TodoPaper I am re-working and tweaking performance items. So, as time goes on, each release should get better CPU usage.

If you have any problems, further questions or comments, please let me know.

Thanks again for your input.

Best,
Jordan
