Todopaper is extremely unstable on my system Subscribe to this topic

Hi, I am evaulating Todopaper. I have to say it is the best task list solution I have ever seen and used. I like its simplicity and effectiveness. Unfortunately I ran into serious stability and other problems which keeps me from using/purchasing it.

 • It cannot save any file. Even if I manage to "save" it via autosave, the file cannot be opened later.

 • I cannot exit the program. It asks "Are you sure you want to quit". I hit "Yes" and nothing happens at all. The programm is still running.

 • The program runs only once after installation. It will not start second time.

I use Windows XP SP2. AMD Athlon 64bit 3200+ Asus A8V Deluxe nVidia 6800LE

(I use trial version of Todopaper 1.0.4.1)

If anyone has any suggestions I would be thankful. Thanks in advance and excuse my English.

Hi Raptor,

Please let me apologize for these bugs. You are the first (to my knowledge) to encounter these problems, so it is good that that you are letting me know about them.

I've taken a look at the images you posted and am curious as to when this started happening. Could you perhaps send me the log file which is displayed in error 2. It should be located here: c:\\program files\\widefido\\todopaper\\todopaper.exe.log

Again, I offer my apologies for these errors. If you would like, you can contact me via email: jordan@widefido.com, post here, or contact me via IM:

 • AIM: widefido
 • Google Talk: widefido
 • Skype: widefido

Please let me know soon about the log file and I will try to resolve this issue immediately.

Thank you!

Best, Jordan

Hi Raptor,

I haven't received your email. Can you verify you sent it to the above address?

Best, Jordan

"I've taken a look at the images you posted and am curious as to when this started happening."

It started immediatelly after installation. I think the program (maybe once) allowed me to save the file using "save as" command but then it started to be unstable and write out errors. I uninstalled the program (I had done Windows restore point before installation so I got back to it) and installed the program again. The same errors occured. Then I restarted the computer and tried to launch TodoPaper but it could not be done.

I took a look at the log file and found what the problem is. It should be an easy fix, so I'll be able to get to it a bit later tonight.

p.s., it seems my forums have a bug when trying to process unicode characters
