Who am I?

I wrote this a while back and thought it would be interesting to share:

“Who am I?”

This is a question often asked (in one form or another) and in response I frequently ramble an autonomous stream of key facts and life decisions. Jordan Sherer. Small town in Michigan called Hillsdale. Studied in Chicago. Software Developer and Entrepreneur. Enjoy cooking, reading, and exercising. World peace.

“That’s interesting,” one might say in a not-so-honest response, perhaps annunciating every syllable sarcastically. “In-te-res-ting.” If only they knew the truth, a truth quite different than the bland reality of my prepared ovation.

“Who am I?”

The truth is: I am kind, generous, and loving. I am a leader. I am a listener. I am motivated. I am creative. I have a vast imagination. I create value by solving problems, even when I sleep. I learn best by doing. I have strength and perseverance. I value simplicity over complexity. And, I am always looking for inspiration and seemingly find it everywhere.

“Who are you really?”
